designed by me , based on a a simple discussion ‘story’ of what the head creative director of Bonwit Teller NYC 1976’ / cannot recall his name, / though he had a particular elegance of visionary thinking & fashion style, and trust in me ( I was 26 and super industrious / still am 😅 ) I painted this 8 painting series in 6 weeks, no downtime everyday at least 15 hrs per day, when they were complete & ready for transporting from my studio on Union Square, I delivered them ( 2 paintings per trip ) in my 2nd hand Karman Ghia convertible, driving uptown cautiously , paintings wedged securely in the passenger seat , after hours no traffic / I recently researched a bit of history about this NYC Bonwits stating… that Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, & Andy Warhol, all worked at BT as window dresser’s/ display !!
somehow I missed that boat, but can’t complain, #artistsoninstagram #artistsmemoirs #charlesbroderson #bonwitteller
