Northern Spy Guy
The last standing, fruit-bearing Northern Spy Apple Tree on Roy Ln is a living testament to the land’s history. Years ago, this area was home to a notable orchard, part of a once-thriving farm. Time and nature have taken their toll, and some years back, a partial tornado swept through, toppling many trees—including this magnificent specimen. Determined to save it, I used a Braden cable winch on my ‘53 Dodge Power Wagon to bring it back to a vertical position, securing it with support bracing. To me, this tree is more than just a survivor—it’s an old, beloved family member.
Northern Spy Apples are legendary for making the perfect apple pie, and a talented local pie maker stops by each year to check in on its harvest. Over time, this tree has drawn its own quiet community: Ollie the Smooth Fox Terrier, and the phantom lone mystery deer that once made its bed in the adjacent shrubbery, patiently waiting for fallen fruit. While some on the mountain feared the deer’s unusual friendliness, to me, it was another part of the landscape’s living story. As an avid gardener with an inherent green thumb, I take deep pride in nurturing this land and its history.
Each print is produced on museum-quality Epson Velvet Fine Art paper with Epson Archival Inks for lasting vibrancy and depth. Every piece is signed by me, printed locally, and carefully protected in clear gel envelopes with foam board backing.
Each size of this print is part of a limited run of 80, ensuring its exclusivity. Every print is individually signed and numbered, making it a unique collector’s item.
Available in three sizes, each offered at a different price point. Please select an option to view size and pricing details.
