Painted at the studio located at 873 Broadway NYC workshop early 80’s, is of course an homage to the Belgian surrealist Rene’ Magritte’s oceanic paintings.
size is 10’ H x 12’ W,
matte acrylic on prepared canvas rolled on a 10 ft dowel/note, all gesso-prepared canvases are produced in my shop using Golden pro-grade mediums & matte paint. Recall in late 70s/early 80s Goldens once had a small outlet on 17th St off 6th Ave NYC, before their products were sought after by professional artists, when their shop closed they produced they’re top grade mediums in New Berlin NY, and before the Blick takeover of artists materials, I purchased Goldens products at NY Central Art Supplies on 3rd Ave & 11th St ( they closed shop some years ago, miss them ! )
