Illuminated lantern lake and small boats with a Lakehouse, recalling my inspiration was marvelous pre-war ‘ travel poster ‘ art. Note, that the 7 Illuminated lanterns along the top, in the leaves & branches, are cut-out shapes from the painting surface, that I backed with light diffusing vinyl and colored gels, ‘ old school theatrical tricks ‘ ( I’m not a trained ‘scenic artist’ graduate ), just a creative ‘maker’, inventing and reveling in all visual crafts & mechanisms.

of the 2 images I posted showing this painting, both are shown with rear illuminated lanterns , and all of the smaller illuminated lamps around the lake, on the boats , and windows of The Boathouse are ‘cutouts’ for the overall effects Also the B & W photo by Bruce Weber of the the Jazz Bassist & young lady dancing at the Lake Party ‘ was an ad campaign for Abercrombie & Fitch , in mid to late 80’s
