$400.00

way back in mid 70’s when I 1st began painting backdrops, I was also a working as a model at Wilhelmina Men . The standard practice for finding a niche, and getting paid work as a ‘new’ model was going out on the ‘Go See’ list of photographers, art directors, creative directors ( issued by the bookers at Willy ) some appointments were for actual pending castings for work, and others were simply to meet the photographer, or production manager and initiate a rapport for upcoming productions . During the interview, the usual question posed is ‘ whats your actual occupation ‘ my reply was that I’m an Artist, that graduated from HS of Art & Design, then School of Visual Arts / SVA , ( I wasnt an aspiring actor as many models were, though took a few lessons & loved the process ) getting back to the point of painting backdrops , on a ‘go see’ a fascinated photographer with an interest / fixation on Maxfield Parrish’s artwork asked if I would like to work on this project of ‘ A Girl on A Swing ‘ and I loved the Idea, so proceeded to paint this typically powerful Maxfield Parrish , deep evening blue gradation to dusk orange , I resolutely studied MP use of pigments & application techniques & materials, and so this was one of the early studio size backdrops I painted, and retained for further use as an asset
